I'm on Moz (2002111214)
I installed Moznotes today (23rd) and made a note, closed moznotes (x) then went back and I get a download dialog asing if I want to download and save moznotes.xul???

Is this normal?

Not normal, no, but I've experienced the same bug myself. I'm not sure what's causing it, but hopefully will be fixed for 0.3!

Just downloaded and installed (24/11 2pm GMT), looks promising!

Expirienced same bug as above.

Are there any plans to make it more 'sticky' ie. always on top or always on top of Mozilla?

How about teaming up with the calendar team, this seems to be a functionality in other PIMs. That way one could also choose to see the note at a given time or time interval.

Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work!

I think a really cool feature would be to be able to have this program in the sidebar to be able to make notes while the browser is open.

Would it be possible to have the funtionality to have both "modes" in one program, docked or undocked

I think the problem is that the mime-type "cached-xul" is not registered in mozilla. After the first loading, the xul-file is cached and therefore changing its mime-type.

I think this an excellent and useful feature for mozilla to have. But as is suggested by others in their feedback, I also think this notes application should be placed in the sidebar of the browser. Other applications such as the note-it from livesidebar.com is good but the disadvantage of that is that it is not executed locally. Keep up the good work man.

Installed it and got the same problem as everyone else.
But I am posting this to encourage the developers to keep
going. This is a great idea and look forward to the 1.0. release when even the developers are happy.

I installed MozNotebut when I try to open the top of MozNote (the blue bar w/ minimize, maximize, and close) appears but the bottom (the yellow section where you would put your notes) does not.

It seems like it cant load all the way (there is an hour glass next to the mouse cusser) for a long time and then mozilla just crashes.

I'm doing this from my work computer (HP vectra) which is running Win NT (which sux)

Installed on 1.3b / WindowsXP Pro. Works OK (although it sometimes opens up full-screen), but when I right-click on a note there is no choice for saving the note (as there is in your screenshot).

I installed MozNote today and the first time I run it, it works fine but the second time it behaves just like above, a dialog prompt me to save a moznotes.xul-file.
An dnothing else happens.....

Installed on 7March03. Same problem as rest of them. Running on NT4 WorkStation, Moz 1.2.1

I can see this problem being reported since Nov. Is this project Dead ? There isn't a bug registered against this in 'bugs' URL above.

How to uninstall ?

For uninstaling the moznotes.xpi, see instructions at:

Although these are for different xpi, 90% of the instrcutions match. Check for existance of moznotes in all files mentioned here.

Here is what I did to get rid of buggy moznotes:

* exit Mozilla,
* delete XUL.mfl file from your profile directory,
* remove line containing the word moznotes from installed-chrome.txt file in the chrome directory,

* remove sections containing the word moznotes from chrome.rdf file in the chrome directory,
There are atleast two references

* remove line(s) containing the word moznotes from appropriate *.rdf files in chrome/overlayinfo subdirectories,
* finally, remove moznotes directory from the chrome directory.

Hope this helps till we get robust version of moznotes

Hi,

This was a nice cool feature. but when i am using from mac OS X, the notes opens over mozilla and does not allow me to work on mozilla unless i close the moznotes and hence i am unable to put this application to any good use. I am using mozilla 1.4.
How do i launch more windows of moznotes in mac?
